Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration – Year 1 & 3 (Full- Time & Part-Time)

The Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration is a dynamic programme where students will be exposed to industry practice, and experiences in the Business Sector. Learners will to a large extent be conducting research based activities, undertaking application assignments and completing a period of internship in the industry. The programme incorporates disciplines such as finance, marketing, human resource management and accounting.

Please note: An Associate degree will be awarded after successfully completing the first two years of the Bachelor’s degree programme. The learner may opt to exit the programme with the Associate degree only or complete the final two years for the Bachelor’s degree.

Associate of Applied Science in Culinary Arts

The Associate of Applied Science in Culinary Arts is designed to provide students with the basic skills and knowledge they need to succeed as a junior culinarian. The program combines the classical elements of an apprenticeship-based education with a contemporary classroom style education. This associate degree incorporate specific competencies in the culinary arts and teaches knife skills, kitchen procedures, food presentation, beverage selection, nutrition, sanitation and safety as well as other fundamentals of cooking.

Occupational Associate Degree in Restaurant Operations

The Occupational Associate Degree in Restaurant Operations is designed on workplace competencies with the intent to provide workforce solutions in the Hospitality & Restaurant Services Industry, with particular focus on the training and certification of persons at the noted level. The programme will expose participants to the technical, operational processes and managerial competencies required in areas such as, menu planning, sanitation and hygiene, restaurant costing, facilities designing, restaurant operations laws, wines and liquors etc.

Food and Beverage – Bartending (NVQ-J Level 2)

he Food and Beverage Bartending (NVQ-J) Level 2 programme at Brown’s Town Community College is meticulously crafted to provide students with a comprehensive foundation in the art and science of bartending. This vocational qualification is designed to equip aspiring bartenders with the essential skills and knowledge required for success in the dynamic hospitality industry. From mastering mixology techniques and understanding beverage service standards to developing customer service excellence, this programme ensures that participants are well-prepared to excel in various hospitality settings. Through hands-on training, theoretical learning, and exposure to industry best practices, students in the NVQ-J Level 2 programme will graduate with the expertise needed to create memorable beverage experiences, contribute to a thriving hospitality sector, and pursue fulfilling careers in bartending.

Marketing & Promotions (NVQ-J Level 2)

The Marketing and Promotions (NVQ-J) Level 2 programme at Brown’s Town Community College is designed to cultivate professionals with a profound understanding of marketing strategies and promotional techniques within the dynamic business landscape. This vocational qualification emphasizes the development of practical skills essential for creating effective marketing campaigns, conducting market research, and implementing promotional activities. Students will gain insights into consumer behavior, branding, and digital marketing, equipping them with the knowledge needed to thrive in today’s competitive marketplace. Through a combination of theoretical learning and hands-on projects, participants in the NVQ-J Level 2 programme will acquire the tools necessary to contribute to successful marketing initiatives, fostering innovation and excellence in the field of marketing and promotions.
