A: You need at least 5 CSEC (CXC) subjects including Mathematics and English. If you’re missing Mathematics, you may still apply and will be required to take a foundational Math course.
A: You can enrol in our Pre-Associate Programme. This allows you to complete your missing subjects while starting selected courses from your degree of interest.
A: No. Our degree programmes begin at the Associate Degree level, and CAPE is not a requirement for entry.
A: Applications can be completed online at isims.btcc.edu.jm/apply. You’ll need your CSEC results, photo ID, TRN, and contact details to complete the form.
A: If you don’t have a TRN, don’t worry; it’s easy to get one!
To apply, visit your nearest Tax Office with:
● A copy of your Birth Certificate
● If you are under 18, you must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian
The process is usually done on the same day, and you’ll receive a printed slip with your TRN number before you leave.
Note: The TRN is required to activate your student account and complete the registration process, so it’s best to apply early.
A: Yes. You can choose from several flexible payment options— 30 days, 3 months, 6 months and 8 months. The type of payment plan available is dependent on the programme you are enroled in. We also offer custom plans if needed.
A: After logging into iSIMS, go to the “Financial Data” tab, review the options, and select the one that best suits you. Don’t forget to click “Save.”
A: Yes, as long as you’ve selected a payment plan and paid the minimum required instalment.
A: Click “Activate Account” on the portal login page, and enter your Student ID, TRN, and date of birth. Follow the prompts to create your password.
A: Once your financial clearance is complete, go to the “Registration” tab in iSIMS, select your courses, and click “Register.” You’ll get a confirmation message when successful.
A: Yes! Many of our degrees, including Social Work, Logistics, and Business Administration, are available part-time, with evening and online options.
There are also short courses offered on a part-time basis for the working professional.
A: Yes. Students in Associate Degree programmes can transition into the 4-year Bachelor’s programme where these exist.
