NVQ-J Electrical Installation programme

The NVQ-J Electrical Installation programme offered by Brown’s Town Community College (BTCC) is a competency-based training course designed to equip learners with the practical knowledge and hands-on experience needed to work safely and effectively in residential, commercial, and industrial electrical environments. The programme follows the National Vocational Qualification of Jamaica (NVQ-J) standards, ensuring that graduates are job-ready and certified for the workforce both locally and regionally.

NVQ-J Certificate in Electrical Installation

  • Duration: 1 year
  • Mode of Delivery: Full-time

Competency-based training for entry into the electrical trade with strong safety and codes emphasis.

Programme Structure

Hands-on labs and site simulations covering installation methods, testing procedures, fault finding, and documentation aligned to Jamaican standards.

Entry Requirements

A minimum of three (3) CSEC subjects, including English Language and Mathematics
OR mature entry with relevant technical experience.
