Bachelor of Science in Nursing (UWI)

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a four-year, full-time programme delivered at Brown’s Town Community College (BTCC) in partnership with the University of the West Indies (UWI). This programme is designed to prepare competent, ethical, and compassionate professional nurses capable of delivering high-quality healthcare in diverse settings. Programme Structure

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a four-year, full-time programme delivered at BTCC in partnership with UWI.

Programme Delivery: Full-time study combining classroom instruction, laboratory simulations, and clinical placements.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • Five (5) CSEC/GCE subjects, including:
  • English Language
  • Mathematics
  • HSB / Biology
  • And two additional subjects

Certification

Graduates are awarded the Bachelor of Science in Nursing conferred by the University of the West Indies (UWI).

  • Eligible to sit the Regional Examination for Nurse Registration (RENR)
  • Eligible to register with the Nursing Council of Jamaica (NCJ) as a Registered Nurse (RN)

Clinical Exposure

Students rotate through approved health facilities for supervised clinical practice aligned to course outcomes.
